Thanks Joe, your transcription of lyrics for the song , above, was very helpful. Below is what I managed to get from the three recordings of Florrie singing the song which can be found on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Esau%2C+Take+Me+On+The+Seesaw
Working out the lyrics is difficult because the narrative of the two verses seems unlikely. The two verses seem to be more or less a frame to allow the audience to join in singing the chorus which is a naughty euphemism joke – “take me on the seesaw” .ESAU TAKE ME ON THE SEESAW
The scene was a country dell
And 'neath the trees a see saw
Our heroine's name was Nell
The hero's name was Esau
He was making the old, old speech
On his bended knee,
But Nellie sighed and then replied
Gazing 'neath the tree:
CHORUS
Esau, Esau, take me on the seesaw
Oh! Oh! I love it so!
Oh! Oh! Isn't it glorious?
Esau, Esau, if you love me true,
Take me on the seesaw, Esau, do.
A wedding drew past the dell
And gazed upon the seesaw
The bride of the name was Nell,
The bridegroom's name was Esau
Life was showing its private side
Loud the church bells rang
But louder still with real goodwill,
Everybody sang:
CHORUS x2
I am unsure of the underlined words in verse two. Florrie definitely sings two syllables there but what I think I hear
