Is that the same little offender who used to have a pitch between M&S and the Broadmarsh Centre? He used to have a bulb-driven car horn (of the Monte Carlo Or Bust type), and tromped on the bulb every time someone put money in his case, apparently to thank them without breaking step. This may or may not have contributed towards future business with each donor (some got embarrassed, or perhaps deafened).

Somewhat later, he got an amp, and sang quieter and at a lower pitch, for the same overall volume level. I always thought he'd sounded better before, but I've no idea what personal circumstances may have made the amp necessary.
