Hmm. Sabine women raped? When I saw Giambologna's amazing sculpture of the Rape of the Sabine Women in the Loggia dei Lanzi in Piazza della Signoria, Florence, four or five years ago, I was moved to look up the story for myself. For one thing, the historicity of the story is disputed. Secondly, even if the story has any truth in it, the women were not abducted for sexual motives. Abducted, yes, raped, no.
