Lawless and corrupt Trump still has a 33% MAGA base which has grown slightly. The Paradox of Republicans is that they can't win with the donald and can't win without him. It is too late in the day for Republicans to significantly change course.

Wannabe De Santis has a glass jaw and could cower as easily as Cruz when facing the blowtorch of Col. Slanders. Ron won't be able to assume all of the Maga base. Besides he is no prize. So we are not out of the woods yet.

Until the control of Congress is settled, the negative Trump blowback is still in question. The winds of change are still in a cone of uncertainty. It is still dark and dusky but there are signs of dawn's early light.
