Message from a Lancastrian friend of mine:

'Would you know where I'd find the lyrics to an old Lancashire ballad, Lo, the bird is fallen? It's about the Battle of Preston in 1715. Not the modern pastiche, but the original.'

I don't know the song personally, although I've done a bit of singing in the clubs of Preston when I lived that way. Anyone got any ideas?
