Jed, there have been other threads on this, someone will no doubt do a blue clicky. Yes, your solution, which I assume is acrylic build up rather than glued on false nails, is the way to go. One word of warning however, they will not last a month of guitar playing without having them filled (round the cuticles) after ten to fourteen days. One hand costs me ten dollars every two weeks, plus tip.
