Going back to the strange phone calls: our bedroom phone goes off while we're both asleep, on Christmas Eve/Night.
Caller says "Can I speak to Mr Santer"
I pass phone to husband.
"Can I get a bike for Christmas?" says a youthful voice.
Husband plays along - "Only if you're a VERY good boy".
Meantime, I look at the clock, and it's 3 bl##dy AM!
"No bike unless you get to bed right now!"
End of conversation!
