The Magic Of Reality is one of my favourite Richard Dawkins books. The title alone is a great way of putting the wonderful diversity of beauty of the natural world, but he doesn't diss fantastical myths and stories out of hand. There's plenty of room for flights of imagination, but real science supported by real evidence is beautiful in itself.
