Publican. Two friends and an agent tried to get my wife and me to buy their pub, a cozy affair in Ottawa's Sandy Hill that was frequented by faculty and students of the University of Ottawa. The real deal-breaker was the arrangement in the lease with the landlord, who wanted a percentage of the sales.
