I'm amazed at the number of people....just in this forum....that have these types of problems or have relatives with these problems. Wow. I think it's a great idea to be checked regularly if a certain type of problem seems to run in your family. It can't hurt.....and it could save your life! I'm not sure if they've linked Crohn's with heredity (??? does anyone know??), but my half sister and I both have Crohn's disease. We share the same mother. Mine was detected at age 21. She was diagnosed in her late 40's, but she has had bowel problems all her life.
