Thread Name: Robert Johnson
Subject: Robert Johnson
There are a couple of MUDCAT files about bluesman Robert Johnson:
Perhaps these should be combined in a normal mudcat thread ???

The reason for my post:
The Smithsonian Institution will publish the research done by Mack McCormick into Johnson's life and death this coming April 2023:

Biography of a Phantom

I assume the serious blues people on Mudcat know of McCormick.

Smithsonian has previously published a collection of his writings: The Blues Come To Texas.

77Records (UK) published 2 LPs of his recordings with extensive annotations. At least one volume issued by Candid in the US.

McCormick did extensive field work, and recorded and annotated many recordings.

Also one of the people who recorded an amazing collection of Bawdy traditions: The Unexpurgated Songs of Men (Arhoolie using RAGLAN label).

Thomas.
