Yes.

The Gas Co. gets paid, so does the Electric Co. and the TV cable co. and the grocer, the vet., and everyone else, including the mayor of my town. So why shouldn't I?

I don't think of money as filthy lucre anymore, but rather as energy, much like electricity. You open the circuit (spend it, earn it, invest it) or you close the circuit (hoard it under your mattress, or in a cookie jar.) And, I had the unpleasant experience of turning down two jobs out of state because they couldn't pay me the gas & expense of coming to their location. Tough luck, but that's life. Maybe next year, they'll have the scratch. Who knows?
