Thread Name: ADD: Jingoistic song: The Eagle (Hank Cochran)
Subject: RE: ADD: Jingoistic song: The Eagle (Hank Cochran)
Closing some notes I've had pending resolution for a while in an attempt to declutter. I've exhausted all my options on contacting the band -- I've (attempted) calling them (the line never picks up) probably a dozen times, I've sent Facebook messages, and I've contacted radio stations, and all have come up empty in terms of procuring a recording. So I'll just put out what I've got with the caveat that, while I couldn't verify I'm answering the original poster's request, I can say it's right with a very high degree of confidence.

The song Rapparee started this thread in search of is probably The Eagle Is Coming, by the True Gospel Echoes of Salyersville, KY, released on a CD of the same title in 2002 (link). The song was written by West Liberty, KY resident Hurl Bates (source). Below is a comment describing the song:
The True Gospel Echoes last CD out is The Eagle Is Coming, It's about the hit in the Twin Towers Sept, 11th., We sent the President Bush 3 copies and he sent one to Afghanistan and the boys over there fixed up a chopper to look like an EAGLE so they could say THE EAGLE IS COMING. They sent us a picture of it and it's on the web page also. You can listen to the song by going to the web page it starts to play when you get there. God Bless you all RBJ (source)
