Thread Name: Songs about Philosophers, Aristotle
Subject: RE: Songs about Philosophers, Aristotle
The Ancient Greek Philosophy Song, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyucNxqfvFE written and performed by Willem Crispin-Frei. Here's the first stanza:

The story of ancient Greek philosophy
Begins on the western coast of Turkey in 585 BC
Thales bore a philosophical daughter
Which was that the world was made of water
Anaximander thought that it was made of stuff
But Anaximenes said "Enough is enough"
He had a new theory, made with care.
He decided that the world was made of air.
Pythagoras and his followers were a bunch of fanatics,
Who thought that the world was purely mathematics.
A^2 and B^2 together he paired,
In a right angle triangle
They equal c^2.
Heraclitus thought the world was composed of fire
This greatly raised Parmenides' ire
He thought the world was an immovable block
And the past and the future were completely locked
"We have no free will at all," he said
Heraclitus replied: "hey you must be brain dead
Zeno of Elea agreed with Parmenides
But now let's talk about Empedocles
Love and strife were the two main forces
As he explained in one of his many discourses
They brought together earth, fire, water, air
Which comprised the world, as he did declare.
