Since I was 14 years old and got a paper-round six days a week, I've been an early-riser - in those days up at 5am for a 5:45am start, when I started a 'proper job' up at 6am for a 7:30am start. I've got up at 6am ever since, still do, despite being into my 12th year of retirement. It helps that Mrs. Backwoodsperson still works full time, so she's also a 6am-er.

Weekends I sometimes have a lie-in until 7 or 7:30.

Unless I'm out playing music, I'm in bed with a book around 9:30, read until 10:30, then lights-out.
