WILLIAM EDDY

May, 1846.    The Donner-Reed wagon train, composed of group of American pioneers left Independence, Missouri, migrating to California. The wagon train encountered great difficulties and some of the migrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating the bodies of those who had died as a result of starvation, sickness, and extreme cold.
