The posts that arrived between the last two of Dave's were moved to the UK thread. I'm sure that's a topic people will want to mine some more, but on that other stage is better.

A similarity in US and UK politics, though, is the amount of Russian interference. It has been stated (by whom I don't remember) that the Russian interference in social media with bots spouting political crap was hugely responsible in influencing people to vote for Brexit. They were being sneaky about it. With regard to Trump and things like disabling (or even leaving) NATO, the War in Ukraine, treatment of Iran and the nuclear treaty he dismantled, etc., the Russians visited him in the White House and told him what they wanted. He shared state secrets with them, and said he trusted Russia more than the FBI.

I really really hope the FBI and the State Department are fingerprinting every document they took from Trump's house to see who all touched them.
