Subject: RE: Dolly Collins, David Munrow
David Munrow was involved in many remarkable musical events. For example, on the Young Tradition's record "Galleries", he accompanied them brilliantly on 'The Agincourt Carol'. Furthermore (as stated above) he played a key role in some of Shirley and Dolly Collins' classic recordings. Also worth noting was his wonderful background music for the BBC's Radio version of 'The Hobbit'.

I saw him perform live only once - in Sunderland - and found his energy and zest as impressive as his technical wizardry (on a bewildering variety of instruments).

His premature death was a great loss to the world - but we still have his music to enjoy, and to learn from.

Ave et vale David!
