Trump is mortal, and will die, sooner or later; wishing it "sooner" is the politics of despair. He needs to be soundly thrashed *at the ballot box*, for the sake of the Republican party's long-term prospects, and to cleanse the entire US body politic.

For the record, I've come to think of him as Nixon lite.
