Peg, I think it's the Pioneer Valley. Happy Valley is (among others, I'm sure) State College, PA, home of Penn State. Of course, depending what you did in college it could have been a happy valley for sure. Me, I spent a miserable year (1984-85) living in East Longmeadow when I was on the staff of Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, brightened only by my trips to Northampton, with chocolate pudding ice cream at Herrell's, dinners at Hot Tomatoes, and concerts at the Iron Horse.
