Substitution for A-list performers is a big deal; the most interesting one I remember was when Pavarotti became ill and Aretha Franklin sang Nessun Dorma at the Grammys. I'd love to have been the fly on the wall as they figured out who else could perform it (who knew the words in Italian.)
