Its a bit of a long story but I'll get to the subject matter soon.
Mrs Bugsy kindly offered to buy me (Let me buy) a small bodies Martin guitar. I'd previously owned and loved a 70's model 0018, but sold it after the purchase of a Maton 325 which has been my "Goto' guitar for the last 30 years. I contacted a guy on facebook who had a Martin OM15 for sale. after trying to deal with him for a week, I gave up and went to my friendly Music store, Zenith Music, in Claremont Western Australia. They had a sale on and had just lost the Martin franchise for WA so I thought I'd be on a winner. No such luck. All the Martins he had for sale were D models or of similar size. Then in the corner I spied, a beautiful small bodied Steel stringed guitar that looked very much like a nylon classic. I immediately fell in love with it, negotiate a great price, and rushed home to play it. That was nearly 3 months ago, and it's been sitting beside me in my music room and played every day since. I can't put the bloody thing down.
Apparently Cordoba only made 2 models of Steel stringed guitar, then they bought Guild and went back to nylon stringed instruments.
This guitar is really in a class of its own. Everyone who's heard me play it, comments on how good it sounds. Unlike my Maton that's got a huge deep tone and doesn't thrives on a heavy hand, this guitar responds to a gentle touch and really comes alive. I'm learning so much from it every day.
here's a link to give you an idea of what it looks like and what it's made of.
