Thread Name: Origins: Oh Where Is King George-Padstow May Song
Subject: RE: Origins: Oh Where Is King George-Padstow May Song
Just discovered this song, thanks (duh) to the Poxy Boggards, who did a version of this with the Merry Wives of Windsor, here [with the rest of the album. Many crude songs. I recommend "safeword" highly... but be warned].

Back to Padsrow: Wondering about the lines after King George in his longboat... Is the part where someone died in her own park-O, Aunt Ursula or her old ewe, pronounced yow, named to fit the occasion, like Mrs. Johnson, all in your gown of green? Or a reference? To whom?

Thanks!
