I was a bit shocked and very much saddened yesterday to learn that home boy Al Petteway had passed away in September. He was a great musician with a varied career but was especially renowned for his arrangements and compositions for DADGAD guitar. Ken Burns used some of his tunes in his documentaries and Al's "Sligo Creek" was the main musical theme for his National Parks doc. He had chops aplenty but his playing was always tasteful and melodic. RIP, Mr. Petteway.
