I'm still not clear where the sixth ("religious") verse originates, but it certainly doesn't appear in any of the Sarah Makem recorded versions. Peter Kennedy's book gives the text but doesn't specify the source or provenance, neither does it appear in the Purslow (Wanton Seed) collection. Can anyone enlighten me as to the actual origins of this curious verse and perhaps point to a recording?
