For the first time in 200 years the 17 year cicadas will emerge at the same time as the 13 year cicadas in my area. No one knows if interbreeding will occur and what the results could be. The hungry wildlife will splurge on the easy meal of cicadas since cicadas have no defense and are quite nutritious.
