A friend here in the US posted a tribute to Navalny on Instagram with hashtags flagging Putin and received spam messages from bots he thought were probably pro-Russian. (He is easily confused by these things - at first he thought other accounts had reported his content as inappropriate and he was in trouble, but then realized the messages he received were a spoof of an Instagram scold about his content). He was ready to close his Instagram account because he was so angry that Instagram would flag him for posting the support.

If Putin can take down the folks who support Navalny, he's halfway to getting away with it. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Putin had a bot farm pushing back against the Navalny supporters.
