I remember not that long ago when Alexei Navalny was suddenly taken ill and was brought low with pain. His supporters were able to have him evacuated out of Russia to Germany where he remained for a long period of diagnosis, treatment, and recuperation. I believe it is included in the movie "Navalny" which includes a brilliant piece of telephone acting where they got information on his poisoning at the hands of Putin and his slaves: from the mouths of the perpetrators.

It seems likely to me that the new delays are to allow degradation or outright elimination of the evidence.
