The Jolly Rogers have done a version of this which I absolutely love. Their ship is called Royal Oak, commanded by Captain Wellfounder. They towed the surviving ship to Portsmouth.

I know this thread is old but maybe someone will get a "ding" and give this version a spin. They also do a song called Voodoo Man which is even better and has become one of my favourite tracks.
