IMO he was a supporter of the status quo an imperialist and a supporter of western colonisation,
imo, he was similiar to Henry Williamson[Tarka the Otter]his Animal stories are well written and wprth reading, but Gunga Din although well written is permeated with his political philosophy which was imperialist.
