Visiting a thread opened after ten years and I learned something new - that the refrain came later. My dad made some cassette tapes for me years ago, of my requests of his songs, and separately of some of the albums he remembered I always asked to listen to as a kid (because dads do that!)

Singing along in the car on long drives helped me to stay awake in the years when work had me crisscrossing the country, and the Ed McCurdy album with Strawberry Roan played more often than the rest. Consequently, just reading these lyrics sets up an earworm that will linger for a day or two. I might as well get out the album and have a listen! :)
