I was thinking of Eliza/Senoufou and her gall bladder.
Has anyone else heard about the pulp in unfiltered apple juice? The pulp contains pectin, which contains malic acid. What I have learned is that these things have a softening effect on the hardened deposits within a gall bladder. They do NOT expel the deposits -- that's olive oil -- but pectin/malic acid make the deposits less painful.
