My mum used to sing this to me and today I found myself singing it to my 10 week old granddaughter

Summer is here from the sunny lands
Summer is here again
Bringing it’s birdies to sing their song in every wood and lane

But I should very much like to know
He who has taught you to sing
He who has taught you the way to fly
And gave you each tiny wing

We have a father the birdies sang
Loving and kind and true
He who has taught the way to fly
Cares for you children too

Thank you dear birdies for telling me
I am so glad to know
Now when I’m asked I can always say
A little bird told me so

It may not be 100% correct , but it bought her back to me after a very long time
And I will carry on singing it to my granddaughter and smile . Thanks mum x
