About a decade ago I heard a song sung by Garrison on A Prairie Home Companion about a duo trying to make it in show business. It started out something like:
We're just a couple of kids, in the show business
Just trying to entertain you
We've been rehearsing this act for a long time
Just doing the best we can do
Somehow it just doesn't seem to be working
Our carreers are going nowhere. . .

That's all I can recall. Is this familiar to anyone?
