This song was in 'The New Fellowship Songbook'. Arrangements by Walford Davies. I still have my copy from Channing School in Highgate, London, where I was at school in the 1960's.

The lyrics are 'played the scullery maid', not 'laid the scullery maid' !!! Joe Other. Although I can imagine soldiers or scouts making this change for a laugh.
