These kinds of threads, especially to newcomers, make us wonder if it's a hint, a clue that perhaps you are operating or looking for interested members of political groups or communal homes, etc.

This is not far-fetched, since I myself, an American citizen, have often run into situations. I rented a house once, with other people, the American way, and once I was in, the guy who was already renting there lays all this communist talk on me, and lorded his beliefs over me. He had a job in the medical field, while I was a measly receptionist, and struggling, and I couldn't afford to tell him to F*** off, and, yes, I did even like him slightly, but, I began to see that everyone is nuts, we're all just walking through the world together and we owe love and respect to each other.

I find it very obtrusive to come to a place of communication, especially about music, and feel like someone's putting the screws to my communication again.

As for Cambodians, I've read a book by a Cambodian accordion player. His whole family was killed and his life was made a nightmare, by the Khmer Rouge. Then, in the local newspaper, once, I read an article about other victims who now live locally, one who was forced into killing.

I have been the victim of racisim and hate quite a lot in my own life, due to weird factoids/etc. I don't find it pressing to defend myself as a black, white, or any ethnic.

I'm not sure if The Mudcat Cafe has ulterior motives, I would assume not. But, this has happened to me, a lot, in my life -- things being not what they seem.
