My 2 cents:

When I was about 20 I had a lovely Jewish girlfriend and at Sabbath meals she and her two sisters would sing this song that I'd been hearing at home since I was a small tyke on one of the early Joan Baez LP's and their version was absolutely charming and followed Baez'. Afterward their father would sing it in Yiddish in a surprisingly beautiful voice.
