My father sang this when I was a kid. He came back from WW11 stationed in Middleton St. George England in 1942-43.   I learned many songs from my Dad singing in the shower or just singing to me and sister.   My sister was born in 1945 and I was born in 1947.

I asked my Dad where it came from, about 2013, but he did not seem to know.   He’s gone now.
