People are reacting with some feeling because, of late, quite a bit of feelings have been stirred up and thread titles like yours have been one unfortunate way of doing that. Others are reacting with ignoring. Some of us, even though we have enjoyed the quality of your thinking often in the past, are staying chilled out to recover our own best thinking. And among all these people are those who don;t recognize your handle, and don't have any good memories to go with it-- they see only a Guest, and it's a shame but the name of GUEST has often been muddied hereabouts.

Thread titles like this will provoke more reaction than thought, whether you meant it to or not. If what you want is someone to think deep and long with you about big issues, I'd be glad to hear from you and continue discussing in e-mail.
