I could list a dozen sessions ruined by TV. Including one entire folk festival.

But sadly that distinction between roundball and the ellipsoid game is no longer true (if it ever was, universally). Yes; I've walked out of a thrilling Rugby League cup final which was decided on a knife edge, with family beside me, walking to the Wembley tube station with a streaming crowd of tens of thousands of opposing fans, in perfect safety. And I've been in a crowded pub full of opposing football fans, and enjoyed being the man in the middle, (faux-) naively asking each side what was going on. Great fun. And I've seen disgusting fights between drunk rugby fans, and between the foul- mouthed parents of child footballers. Not fun.

And if you think rugby players of either code are overweight (certainly since 1996), you don't know the difference between "big" and "fat". To counter- stereotype, it's observable that the balletic skills required of a roundball player includes a convincing Dying Swan.

Come to think of it, I've seen fights break out between players or listeners in sessions, but not in Sandy Bell's (perhaps because I've never been there), and certainly not involving actor- singers.
