I'm going to have Mr. Poe sing a little number that was
written by a young chap. The only number that he ever
wrote. But he happened to be called away in the great American
army to fight for his country and upon leaving he dedicated
the little number to his sweetheart a very beautiful number
titled "I Can't Leave Her Behind Alone".

Henry Lee, from Tennessee,
Was nothing but a business man
At business he was grand;
So he bought himself a peanut stand;
At selling peanuts Henry was every wise,
He was one of those guys who love to advertise,
Now when you'd pass him by,
You'd hear Henry cry:

Now does anybody here want hot peanuts?

I'm telling you, they're grand.
Go get them hot, the way you should,
'Cause you all know cold nuts are no good,

1940s. Blank 78 record. Attributed to Fred Shaw. The singer
is a "Mr. Poe". The text is very similar to printed version
in The "Wrecks" (1934)
