Dick, the very first paragraph of you first link

Your second link was about an individual stabbing which was very sad but also contained the line

"This area, which includes Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton, previously had the highest rate but reported knife crime fell in the latest figures"

So, if you thought they did anything to prove that violence was increasing, they didn't!

To which the answer is no as the articles you linked indicate that knife crime is reducing. If you are trying to compare knife crime in the UK with gun crime in the USA then you are barking up the wrong tree entirely. Much like the MAGA gun nuts.
