Subject: RE: Review: Songs of Ireland - who are these guys?
I just did a search on youtube for The Studio Group, and I suspect that it is one of those record companies which make studio copies of well known songs and music and sell the albums cheaply. The Studio Group could indicate that the musicians are session or studio musicians instead of the original artists.
I was given a harp CD which had belonged to an older lady, now passed away. I started a thread here to try to find more information:
It is called Celtic Folk Harp and it has no identifying information about the harpist even though the music is beautifully and professionally performed. I finally, after a lot of internet sleuthing, found a CD by the well known British harpist named Hugh Webb and when I compared the tunes he plays to the same tracks on my CD I knew that it was his work.
I still get annoyed that such a great musician should have his work distributed for profit but he is not credited on the CD. My theory is that he was given a paid assignment and agreed to the absence of credit to his work.
I suspect the same situation might apply to the CD you are trying to find out about.
