OK, I am not a teacher, librarian, or "academic professional", but I do demonstrations is schools quite often. I use the Digital Traditon to find lyrics and tunes to use with school age children that are relative to the Unit Topic they are working on, such as the American Civil War, or the High Middle Ages.
