"In short: The Pentagon's acting inspector general says he will review Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's use of the Signal messaging app to convey plans for a military strike in Yemen.

"In a memorandum addressed to Mr Hegseth, the Inspector General's office said it would examine whether the use of Signal met Defense Department guidelines.
