Thread Name: HELP - problems with winamp
Subject: RE: HELP - problems with winamp
At the moment, it looks to me as if it's to do with the way Winamp installs to Netscape, combined with the way Sandy has his site set up (intermediate "forwarding" files like .m3u or .ram can sometimes create problems); I had a similar problem with Real Audio files at Musical Traditions a while back (though that got put right somehow, I think by the site manager) -for now, you might find it easier to use IE for mp3s at Folk Legacy.  As a rule, Netscape and Winamp seem to behave perfectly well with mp3s at most sites.  Alternatively, you could always try uninstalling Winamp and telling Real Audio that it's allowed to play .mp3 and .m3u formats; that might work too.  (View -Preferences -Media Types -ReAssociate: check the appropriate boxes)  Not everyone checks to make sure that their sites work properly in both of the most commonly-used browsers, but it's equally as likely that it's to do with the way you -and I- have Netscape configured.
