"Tam Booey"
sung by Duncan McPhee

Come be with me, Tam Bee, Tam Bee
Come be with me, w' me health and me joy
Crying come be with me, w' my health and my joy
I'm such a poor widow, poor widow, was I.

Spoken: What's the pay, you old whore?

Crying twenty broad shillings, Tam Bee, Tam Bee
Crying twenty broad shillings, w' me, w' me health and me joy
Crying twenty broad shillings, w' me, w' me health and for joy
I'm such a wanton poor widow was I.

Spoken: What's for supper, you old whore? [laughter]

Crying porridge and milk, Tam Bee, Tam Bee
Crying porridge and milk, w' me health and me joy
Crying porridge and milk, w' me health and me joy
I'm such a old wanton, poor widow was I.

Spoken: Where will I sleep, you o' whore?

You can sleep with the bairns, Tam Bee, Tam Bee
You can sleep with the bairns, w' me health and me joy
Crying, sleep with the bairns, w' me health and for joy
I'm such a wanton poor widow was I.

Spoken: [ . . . . . . . . . . . . . ], you o' whore? [Children laughing]

You can sleep with myself, Tam Bee, Tam Bee
You can sleep with myself, w' me health and me joy
Crying sleep with myself, w' me health and for joy
I'm such a wanton poor old widow was I.

Spoken: I'm thing's not big enough for yours. [Children laughing]

Six inches will de, Tam Bee, Tam Bee
Crying six inches will de, w' me health and me joy
Crying six inches will de, w' me health and for joy
And such an old wanton poor widow was I.

1960s(?). "Tam Booey" sung by Duncan McPhee on the Kenneth Goldstein's
obscene songs reel-to-reel tape. The song is at the 11:37 mark.
The tape is clear but I can't understand the Scottish dialect at the lacuna.
