To answer the OP, what are you paying for when you buy an acoustic guitar? Mainly the woods, right? Now,there isn't just Brazilian Rosewood, say, it's graded, and that's still true of East Indian Rosewood, Mahogany or whatever.

The higher the grade, the more you pay.
