Oscar Brand recorded (and presumably penned) a Salvation Army song on one of his "Bawdy Songs" albums in the early '60s. It used the "Save a Fighter Pilot" tune.

All I remember is the first two lines:

"They came marching down our ally like a bunch of Queen's Marines,
A-playing "hallelujah!" on thei drums and tambourines."

IIRC, it used the "dirty bum" chorus.
