IIRC, back in the 1960s "These Are My Mountains" came second to the ballad "Loch Marie" in a TV song contest. There was almost a riot in our house when the winner was announced. From the post-contest backlash, "These Are My Mountains" was the out & out favourite of the general public, by far.
FWIW, I've never heard "Loch Marie" sang anywhere else since - nice song that it was. That alone speaks volumes.
